Born and raised in North London, Ayo’s early life was shaped by cultural diversity, systemic challenges, and a passion for expression. Despite a turbulent school experience, his talent and energy found a home on stage from a young age. He trained at the renowned Anna Scher Theatre and went on to perform at major venues including Sadler’s Wells, Hackney Empire, The Glenbourne Opera house and internationally at the Manoel Theatre in Malta.
Ayo’s acting credits span stage, TV, and film — with appearances in EastEnders, The Bill, Little Miss Jocelyn, and roles in independent films such as Rag Tag and David Is Dying. His passion for poetry was sparked through classic literature and theatre in education, eventually leading him to develop his own powerful voice as a writer and performer.
Ayo Fawole is a dynamic storyteller with over 30 years of experience in the arts. As a poet, actor, and podcast host, he brings warmth, empathy, and raw authenticity to everything he creates. His poetry, often deeply personal and reflective, explores themes of identity, resilience, and healing — most notably in his spoken word compilation This Isn’t Poetry, It’s Therapy.
